Clarence River Tourism, the main body responsible for promoting the Clarence region including Wooli and Minnie Water, won the Silver Award for Best Visitor Information Centre in NSW for 2012 at a gala event held in Sydney on 22 November 2012.

In her acceptance speech, Tourism Manager for the Clarence Ms Jenny Massie thanked the organisation’s staff, the members of the Clarence River Tourism Board who volunteer their time, and the body’s partners including Clarence Valley Council.

“This is a great achievement coming off the back of the Gold Award that we recently won for the North Coast Region from Port Stephens to Tweed Heads in September,” said Ms Massie.

“To win the Silver Award at State level is a major achievement and it is fantastic to be recognised as achieving outstanding results during 2011/2012. It is a team effort, the staff work hard to improve visitors’ experiences and to promote the region as a destination.”

Clarence Tourism also thanked the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, their partner in the recently launched Wooli Minnie Water Tourism Project. This project – of which this website/blog  is a part – is about establishing new visitor experiences designed to meet a growing nature-based market.
