The 28th Australian Goanna Pulling Championships have come and gone – and were declared a big success.

Traditionally held on the first Sunday of October, this year’s event took place at the Wooli Sportsground on a beautifully sunny Sunday, the 5th of October 2014.

In addition to the quirky national championships which drew contestants from across the Eastern Seaboard, there were plenty of other family-friendly activities and attractions to keep visitors occupied.

There were wood chopping and dog obedience club demonstrations as well as fun brick carrying races, tug-of-war competitions, reptile shows (featuring the massive Max the Goanna), Old McDonald’s Farm, children’s rides and a large range of food, drink and market stalls.

Congratulations go to the winners in all categories!
