Holidaying with Pets in Wooli

The coastal villages of Wooli and Minnie Water on the NSW North Coast are very pet-friendly holiday destinations. Nobody likes to leave their beloved family pet at home, so take them with you!

Although pets are not permitted in the National Park, the area offers pet-friendly accommodation in both villages and areas to exercise your dog both on and off leash.

Bring your dog on your holiday to Wooli or Minnie WaterAs a general rule, if dogs are on a lead and under effective control, they are permitted in all public areas, except for the areas listed below and unless otherwise directed by local signage. Please always read dog signage because different terms apply to each area.

Dog friendly beaches (on leash only)

Dogs on leash are allowed on Minnie Water Main Beach and Wooli Main Beach (excluding areas within the surf lifesaving flags). In Diggers Camp, dogs on leash are only allowed on the main beach under the headland.

Every dog loves to run free. Dogs can be exercised off leash at the Centenary Community Reserve, commonly known as the Wooli Oval (where you’ll see a sign advertising the annual Goanna Pulling Championships). Dogs are not allowed on the Oval when it’s in use by a school or sporting group.

Where dogs are NOT allowed

Dogs and other pets are NOT allowed:

  • anywhere in Yuraygir National Park
  • in playground areas
  • in food preparation areas

Pet-friendly accommodation

Wooli and Minnie Water have plenty of pet-friendly holiday accommodation, particularly when it comes to small to medium-sized dogs.

At most pet-friendly properties, dogs are allowed to be kept on the veranda and in the yard, but usually not inside the house, cabin or apartment.
