Residents of the Coffs Coast who read the popular free monthly glossy Coffs Coast Focus in December 2012 are enticed to visit Wooli for a stress-free break.
The story, titled Winding Down in Wooli, describes the destination as a perfect, quiet place to experience a holiday the way they used to feel, but with modern conveniences, and surrounded by the most pristine environments. It was written by Coffs Harbour-based copywriter Micky Stuivenberg.
Wooli and Minnie Water are lucky to be promoted by a multiple award-winning visitor information centre.
Clarence River Tourism, the main body responsible for promoting the Clarence region including Wooli and Minnie Water, won the Silver Award for Best Visitor Information Centre in NSW for 2012 at a gala event held in Sydney on 22 November 2012.
Clarence Valley newspaper The Daily Examiner published a stunning double-page photo spread on Saturday 3 November 2012 featuring amazing close-up photographs of the natural and artistic wonders of Yuraygir National Park by award-winning local photographer Debrah Novak.
“Over the next few weeks I will present through Clarence Life a couple of multimedia experiences for you to enjoy and it begins with this photo essay showcasing artscapes of the Yuraygir”, said Debrah on 3rd November.
Yuraygir National Park is home to fewer than 100 coastal emus (Dromalus novaehollandiiae). The coastal emu is listed as an endangered population in the NSW Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995.
Although the emus were once in abundance in this area, the local population has been in decline over the past 20 years as a result of habitat loss, fires during the spring breeding season, predation by foxes and wild dogs, and collisions with vehicles.
The 26th Australian National Goanna Pulling Championships will be held in the seaside village of Wooli on the Clarence Coast (just east of Grafton) on Sunday 30 September 2012 (October long weekend).
It will be a fun day out for the whole family.
